Anything by Epson or HP are pretty reliable on the Mac.
Dell does not support their printers for Mac. However they do support a very small number of printers for Mac. So you can try looking in their support site to know whether your printer is one among the supported printer. Link : [ http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/ ].
If you do not find a driver, you can try one more thing. Do the following :
1. Connect the printer in USB.
2. Launch “System Preferences” [ /Applications/System Preferences ]
3. Click on “Print and Fax” icon.
4. Click on “Add printer” [a + button].
5. The window will list your Printer. Select the printer
6. Mac OS X will try to figure out whether it has a driver that supports this printer. If it gets a driver, it will let you Add the printer.
7. If it adds, try giving a Print job. If it prints you are done
Note : The steps for adding a Printer listed above is as in Leopard[10.5]. It might slightly differ on other versions of Mac OS X.
