Illinois students build 33 teraflop cluster from GPUs

With guidance from Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Wen-mei Hwu, Computer Science professor Bill Gropp, and cluster experts at NCSA, students got hands-on experience building their own supercomputer with NVIDIA graphics-processing units. They hope to rank high on the Green500 list of energy-efficient supercomputers.
