Hi,

I am doing a secondary research on Business Intelligence (BI)/Predictive Analysis (PA) tool vendors like WebFOCUS/Spotfire/MicroStrategy etc and 3rd party Universal Database Integration Adapters such as DataFlux etc. Based on my research I understand that BI/PA vendors like WebFOCUS/Spotfire/MicroStrategy etc provide in-built API’s/Drivers/Adapters for integrating disparate database sources.

I want to understand whether:

1) Bi/Pa vendors such WebFOCUS/Spotfire/MicroStrategy etc are they using 3rd party Data Integration vendor such DataFlux for integrating disparate database sources or are they just sticking to their proprietary/in-house api/drivers/technologies for integrating disparate data sources?? If not, then what are the limitations/constraints/reasons for them not using such 3rd party Database Sources Integration tools ??

2) Who (BI/PA tool vendors) are using 3rd party universal data integration adapters for integrating database sources ?? What is the market for such kind of 3rd party database integration universal adapters ??

I would appreciate if anyone can provide me with brief answers to above 2 questions or/and links to technical blogs/forums/white papers/reviews etc who provide such information alongwith the market/customer base info.

Any relevant help is highly appreciated, as I need this urgently.

Thanks and regards.

Note: I am focusing on BI/PA tool vendors in Banking & Insurance industry.
