printer prints up PDF files and emails but not Word Docs or AS400 ?

I was printing and a couple extra papers started going through the feed,and beng an idiot I pulled the out while printing which smudged the paper being printed really bad and then the no ink would print thereafter.I tried reinstalling the drivers,didn’t work.Then someone sugggested the ink cartidges may have sealed dhut,so i replaced the black ink and then it did print PDF file and emails from my Yahoo Email Account,however if I try to print from a Word Doc or from my office software the printing is skipped and faded,but mostly like the top portions of the letters do not print,just the bottom so like an “O” will print as a “U” a “T” as an “I” etc

anything else I can try before scrapping the printer?
