Problem with Driver “USB Mass Storage Device 5.1.2600.0″?

It seems my Driver “USB Mass Storage Device 5.1.2600.0″ is invalid and causes blue crashes under W XP. But I could not find any replacement for it. My question is, can I just uninstall that driver without facing problems afterwards? Is that driver still useful anyway? Thanks in advance Jonnyport
